Just a quickie - we had a new delivery yesterday, just a small box from Montane but some ace goodies inside.

The every popular Montane Featherlite Smock is back in stock in OLIVE, probably the most popular colour ever and I don’t need to remind you how important this little piece of kit is.

Secondly we have the Men’s Super-Fly jacket in Burnt Orange in sizes S, M, L, XL - this is a superb jacket.

lots of big boxes arrived today from Equip, that means lots of new gear for Rab and OutdoorDesigns. We’ll be unpacking over the next day or so and then let you know what we have got.

The October ‘08 edition of TGO magazine has just given the brand new Montane Womens Venture Jacket (eVent Waterproof jacket) a staggering 4.5 stars out of 5 saying that this jacket has ideal features and would be a great choice for year round use. Here’s the review:

Female Venture Jacket - ‘TGO Recommended’ - 4.5 / 5

This is a lovely jacket with the performance you would expect from eVent fabric. Length is ideal just covering my backside.  The hood is well shaped with good peripheral vision.  The collar is the ideal height, just about covering my mouth and below my cheeks when unzipped.  It also has a soft chin guard.  Hips and shoulders are re-inforced for use with a rucksack, with soft rather than stiff fabric.  Side pockets are excellent with room for an OS map.  The low weight and modicum of extra length make this a good choice for year round use.

So in a recent BBC Country File Magazine a reviewer gave the Montane Panther Fleece Jacket for Women a fantastic 4 stars out of 5 saying that it performs best during high energy activities and when worn with a close fitting base layer.

A fleece by another brand actually won the review but the interesting thing is in the magazine at the head of the article the main photograph shows the Montane Panther worn by possibly the reviewer - another great indication that this fleece was the favourite.
